• Improved live view focus-point display response during face/eye-detection and subject-tracking AF.
• Improved the performance of face/eye-detection AF and subject visibility with optional flash units.
• Improved low-light autofocus detection times at a Focus mode setting of Single AF.
• Fixed the following issues:
Selecting Focus for Custom Setting a1 (AF-C priority selection) would sometimes slow shutter response.
Focus accuracy was sometimes unreliable.
Using custom Picture Controls created with Manage Picture Control when recording movies at a frame size/rate of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD); 60p or 50p would sometimes produce unexpected results.

Addressed an issue that would in rare circumstances result in unusually loud noises from the aperture mechanism when the zoom or focus rings on F mount lenses connected via an FTZ mount adapter were rotated.
Nikon quietly added a 1.31 firmware update for the Z7 II with only one reported change: improvement of Single-point AF in AF-S Focus Mode in low light conditions.
Nikon, silenciosamente, atualiza o log de atualizações de firmware da Z9, Z7 II e Zfc
Nikon quietly updated the changelog (release notes) for the last few Z camera firmware updates:
Original Nikon Z9 firmware v1.11 | Updated Nikon Z9 firmware v1.11
Original Nikon Z7 II firmware v1.31 | Updated Nikon Z7II firmware v1.31
Original Nikon Z fc firmware v1.20 | Updated Nikon Z fc firmware v1.20
The Z9 firmware update has several new lines added, while the other two updates just “gained” support for the new Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S mirrorless lens.
From a software development point of view, it is a bad idea to add functionality to an already officially released version.
Needless to say that users will not have a clue that the release notes were updated… Just a bad practice from Nikon and I hope they will not do it again. I do not know how far back they went to update the release notes, but the Z6II camera still doesn’t have support for the new 400mm Z lens. Maybe we will finally see the long-rumored Z6II/Z7II firmware updates being officially announced next week at the 2022 CP+ show. Stay tuned!
Improved AF performance for still images, background omission during auto-area AF is suppressed, making it easier to focus on the subject in the center of the screen.
Gostaria de atualizar o fw, mas tenho trabalho hoje e na próxima semana. Meu receio é o flash Godox não funcionar… isso já aconteceu com um fw anterior. E precisei aguardar a Godox lançar a atualização resolvendo o problema.
